The pipes for the Sand Backpassing Project are starting to arrive in town. There will be some traffic drisruptions along Castletown Quays to cater for the trasport and storing of the material.
Temporary Car Park Closure - Castletown Quays Car Park, east end, will be closed from 6.00 am Tuesday 18th July 2023 until further notice.
Traffic Disruption - Access to the Chaplin Street toilet block area and Castletown Quays to the car park will also be closed from 6am - 3pm Tuesday 18th July 2023.
Interruptions to traffic may be encountered along Goldfields Road and Chaplin Street whilst the wide load is being mobilised to the site.
This is due to the transportation of the Sand Backpass Pipes being unloaded and stored at the Castletown Quays Car Park.
Signage will be in place.
Access for Local Traffic only - please see the crew onsite as heavy vehicles will be operating.
