Line marking will take place at the end of March, so until then, for the safety of all drivers, the speed limit will be 60km/h with no overtaking.
Installation of new guard rails to be done under traffic management.

- Drainage Completed in the western approach
- Maintenance work to Old Smokey Road
Base and trimming sue to be completed this upcoming week.
Sealing scheduled to commence on the 8 March.
Works are on schedule for the road opening date of the 14 March, subject to no weather events or emergency situations. After this, line marking and guard rail work will be completed, but this will be done under traffic management.

- East Side – Ready for resurfacing.
- West Side – Some extra drainage works needed to take place in some areas to the subbase course before installing the new base course gravel next week.
Works are progressing well and we are happy where the project currently stands.
We have received some feedback about hooning on Fisheries Rd. Hooning and speeding is a WA Police issue. If you notice this is happening, please report directly to Esperance Police.

- East Side - Gravel mixed and laid, making it ready for resurfacing.
- 75% of the western side is boxed out and almost ready to lay the Geo textiles
- Angove Road – Road works are now complete.
We have experienced a slight delay in works due to two Harvest & Vehicle Movement Bans over the past week, however we are making good progress in spite of this.

Update - Week till the 4 February 2022
- Fisheries Road Closed. Detour signage is located at the Tyrrell Road and Merivale Road turnoffs.
- Upgraded Hicks Rd track for local use only.
- Surveyors - pegging and marking heights.
- West Side of bridge - Pruned or removed any flora from inside the works footprint.
- East Side of bridge- Started removal of water damaged material.
- Removed all signage and delineation from the project site.
- Gravel carting started to reform the road.
- Started proof rolling.
- Started upgrade to Angove Road. Lifting the road base to protect tree roots and assist with future maintenance. Once work in finished on Angove Rd, a final grade of Hicks Road and Track will be done to remove corrugation.
Traffic Detours are in place, via Merivale Rd and Tyrrell Rd.
