Our Bushfire Recovery Story

The 'Our Bushfire Recovery Story' book acknowledges the bushfires that occurred in the Esperance region in November 2015. The intense bushfires deeply affected the Esperance community - resulting in astounding community strength, bravery & support.

‘Our Bushfire Recovery Story’ is a collection of stories, tributes, poems and images that were gathered from our community giving people, impacted by the events at the time, an opportunity to tell their story or share their experience. This was seen as an important part of the bushfire recovery process and as a community we will continue to support those who need it.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Lotterywest for funding the project and recognising the need to have the story told as a beautiful memoir of our community’s resilience.

We encourage you to read the stories and witness the strength and resiliency of the Esperance Community.
