Lake Monjingup Pet Cemetery
Lake Monjingup is a wetland, parkland and nature reserve with 102 hectares of pristine bushland. The reserve is home to 313 species of flora, 90 species of birds, and many other native wildlife exclusive to the area. Nestled in the serene Lake Monjingup Reserve, the Pet Cemetery offers a tranquil final resting place for beloved pets.
How to get there
Situated 15 kilometres from Esperance, take a short drive along the South Coast Highway and turn left onto Telegraph Road. Lake Monjingup Reserve traverses both sides of Telegraph Road, the Pet Cemetery is the first left-hand turn from Telegraph Road.

Conditions of Use of the Pet Cemetery
- The cemetery is for household pets only including dogs, cats and birds. Wildlife and large animals such as horses are excluded.
- Prior to the burial of any pet within the cemetery, the Shire requires a completed application and fee payment.
- Application form is available from the Shire Administration Office at Windich Street, Esperance.
- Upon submission of the application form, the applicant can choose a preferred plot from the Pet Cemetery Map and will be assigned a plot number.
- The applicant is responsible for digging, filling and maintaining the grave.
- Pets must be wrapped in decomposable material or laid bare.
