The Wylie Bay Waste Facility has been closed until further notice due to swarming bees.
The swarm of bees arrived in as a bee hive that had been placed in a blue residential recycling bin, collected from the Pink Lake area.
This resident’s action has placed the public and Waste Facility employees in danger, resulting in the shutdown of the entire Wylie Bay Waste Management site.
The incident has also disrupted local businesses, as they are unable to use the waste facility, many have ceased operations for the day.
Please be mindful of what you place in your recycling bin – Everything is hand sorted in an enclosed shed.
