As a close-knit community, we come together to connect, talk, play, and support each other through grief. Our stunning coastline, beaches, and ocean are beloved by locals and visitors alike. Sadly, these waters sometimes claim lives, and we deeply understand that nothing can ever replace the loss of a loved one.

The Lost at Sea memorial offers a permanent, safe, and welcoming space where family members and friends can reflect, grieve, and feel a connection to those they have lost at sea in our region. Located at the Brazier Street Node of the Esperance Foreshore, the memorial is dedicated to anyone lost at sea off the Esperance coastline who has no known grave.

We often hear from families and friends who are seeking a lasting tribute to honour their loved ones lost at sea. For many, the heartbreaking reality is that their loved one may never be recovered. This memorial will provide a place for personal reflection and serve as a lasting tribute to those tragically lost at sea.

This project recognises the importance of communal grieving and the need for safe, open spaces where our community can gather to reflect, remember, and cope with the loss of loved ones at sea.
