On Saturday, September 28, Curtin University mining and nursing students teamed up with the Esperance LEAF (Local Environmental Action Forum) group for a coastal clean-up with a difference. The volunteers spent the day removing weeds and rubbish from the Esperance coastline, combining their efforts to help restore the natural environment and protect local wildlife. The clean-up highlighted the importance of environmental stewardship, as students from diverse fields worked side by side to make a meaningful impact. After the hard work, the team joined LEAF representatives for a well-deserved BBQ lunch, sharing stories, building connections, and reinforcing the value of community-driven environmental action. This event not only strengthened the bonds between students and local organisations but also served as a hands-on learning experience about the vital role of environmental sustainability.
