Nominations for the Auspire Community Citizen of the Year 2025 have officially opened, and it’s time to recognise those who tirelessly work to make our community a better place. Do you know an individual who dedicates their time and energy to improving our region? Or perhaps a community group that contributes significantly to making Esperance an incredible place to live? If so, now is the perfect opportunity to nominate them and ensure they receive the recognition they deserve for their hard work and dedication.

The Citizen of the Year Award helps the nominees' and winners' future endeavours by enhancing their resumes and creating recognition for the hard work they have put in.

There are 4 categories  for nomination:

  1. Community Citizen of the Year (for individuals over 16 years)
  2. Young Community Citizen of the Year (for individuals aged 16-30 years)
  3. Senior Community Citizen of the Year (for individuals aged 65 years or over)
  4. Active Citizenship Award (for community groups or events)

Although you are amazing, you can’t nominate yourself - but you can talk to a friend about whether they might like to nominate you!

If your local in mind has already won or been nominated, don’t worry, they can be nominated again.

Nominations are open until the 31st of October, giving you plenty of time to recognize the next Esperance legend or group that makes our community shine. You can submit nominations online here. Additionally, hard copies of the nomination forms may be picked up from the Shire of Esperance admin building on Windich Street. Let’s come together to celebrate the unsung heroes of our community!
