Aquatic Centre Closes for Major Maintenance

The Bay of Isles Leisure Centre aquatic area will close for 8 weeks to undergo essential maintenance. Major works will be undertaken from Monday 29 July to replace the Ripple Sound Ceiling System. This speciality ceiling was installed in 1999 with a 20 year expected lifespan, so it’s had a good innings - but it’s now time to replace it.

Leisure Centre Members and general users have been informed about the aquatic facility closure and provided with alternate classes at no extra cost. During the aquatic closure the gym, fitness classes and creche will still operate as normal, and aquatic staff will use the time to develop their skills and services.

The Shire will take this opportunity to do other maintenance and repairs to the Leisure and Toddler pools as well as replace UV Filters and carry out rust repairs, paint works to the pillars and window sills, and other minor works.

Ongoing maintenance is essential to keep our aquatic area operating. Short term closures are inevitable, and we thank our members and community for their understanding and support.
