Please note the Bushfire Watch and Act has been downgraded to a Bushfire Advice - Monitor Conditions. Local roads have reopened with speed restrictions. Smoke will continue to impact nearby suburbs overnight.

The alert level for this fire has been downgraded as the fire is contained and under control.
There is no threat to lives or homes.
There is a lot of smoke in the area that will impact people in nearby suburbs overnight.

🔥A Bushfire Watch and Act is in place for people bounded by Lyon Parade, Baleine Drive, Goldfields Road, Frank Freeman Drive, Walmsley Street, Ormonde Street and Voile Lane in BANDY CREEK and CASTLETOWN in the SHIRE OF ESPERANCE.
There is a possible threat to lives and homes.
WHAT TO DO
- Stay alert and monitor your surroundings as conditions could change.
- You may need to act quickly so ensure you are prepared if the situation gets worse.
- Read through your bushfire plan. If you do not have a plan make one by visiting My Bushfire Plan.
- Have your emergency kit ready.
- If you find it hard to move quickly, leaving now is your safest option.
- Keep your doors and windows closed to keep out smoke.
- Continue to patrol your property and be ready to put out spot fires.
If you plan to stay and defend ensure you are mentally and physically prepared, with protective clothing and an independent water supply.

Watch and Act - Be Aware of Ember Attack due to a change in wind conditions. The bushfire is moving in a north easterly direction.

There is a possible threat to lives and homes due to current wind conditions.

Burning embers are likely to be blown around your home and could spark a fire.

If your plan is to leave, leave now.

Take your emergency kit with you. It should include an AM/FM radio that runs off batteries, a first aid kit, a woollen blanket, phones, protective clothing medication and irreplaceable valuables.
