Esperance Home Care has moved to comply with WA Government strategies to reduce plastic pollution. After careful research, safe, user friendly meal containers are now being used to transport and deliver the tasty Meals on Wheels food to waiting clients.

The Esperance Home Care Meals Kitchen provided 4507 meals in the last financial year – each one consisting of a soup, a main meal and a dessert. All of these are served in a separate plastic containers, so the transition to the new meal boxes means a fantastic reduction in plastic going to our landfill.

Esperance Home Care Meals on Wheels plays a crucial role to support the health and wellbeing of many of our senior residents, with nutritious meals prepared to National Meal Guidelines. Meals on Wheels clients look forward to seeing the volunteers delivering their delicious food, and the service also provides important social interaction, helping to reduce the risk of social isolation for those living alone.
