Approx 2:30pm Friday, January 31, a fire broke out near the intersection of Murray Road and Telegraph Road in Daylup. At its peak, 17 fire appliances and around 51 firefighters were fighting the fire. About an hour into the incident, a firefighting truck was caught in a burnover, resulting in three firefighters being taken to Esperance Hospital with minor injuries and smoke inhalation. We are incredibly grateful that they are safe.
Thank you to all the Bush Fire Brigade and Esperance Emergency Support Unit volunteers for your amazing work in such trying times.
